Recently someone made an offer on a community website to pray for people. Most
responders thought it was a good idea, but one person choose to lash out.
They belittled the person’s belief. It is one thing to disagree with someone’s belief, but it is quite different to attack them.
I think the person responding has a number of issues they should explore in themselves. I am recounting the exchange because it indicates a widespread issue in our world.
Why do people have to lash out with poisonous responses? I think the source of their anger is to be found inside them, not outside. I also believe that their response is the opposite of the teachings of Jesus.
I believe that when Jesus said to love your enemies, he meant to do good for them regardless of how you felt about them. Criticism and hate may make you feel
self-righteous, but they don’t make you right.
I will praise the name of God with a song; I will magnify him with thanksgiving.
