After many years of living in a parsonage, we bought our first home three years ago. The first thing I noticed was that there were no Trustees to fix whatever was broken. The second thing was that there is always something that needs to be fixed or improved. In the same vein, Lent is a season for fixing and improving our spiritual home. We may have neglected our prayer life or our devotional reading. We need to fix that. We may need to spend more quiet time considering our relationships or the direction of our lives. Maybe some improvements could be made here. In the end we will have a home which serves us well and where we feel comfortable and secure. Let’s pay attention to our spiritual home in preparation for Easter.
