Years ago, when we still did charge conference at individual churches, we were asked to set goals for the coming year. If we were serious, it was a lot of work. As I look back, it
was a way to keep from meandering through the year. What do we want to accomplish this year? More people and good financial support would be good but not a big
enough goal. Maybe our goal should be to expand the number of people to whom we minister. Maybe we can offer a haven for those whose churches are leaving the United
Methodist Church but they do not want to go. Maybe we can find a new project that will better our community. A year from now, will there be something of which God will proud of?
