Life is full of ups and downs. One minute everything is coming up roses and then in another minute things go bad. Sometimes we make mistakes; people or circumstances disappoint us; we have a problem.
We know that this will not last. There will be better days. But what happens when we cannot see any hope for a better day?
Then we lament. The Bible includes laments when it seems that all is lost and God is absent. Yet in the end those who lament still trust in God. Maybe that is the point. There are times when we cannot figure out what to do and there is no relief on the horizon.
The only trust we have is in God. We lament the death of children. We lament war. We lament people abusing people. We don’t know what to do. At the end of our rope, we find God waiting.
Purpose:
I can do all things through Christ because He strengthens me. Philippians 4:13
